Food and fine dining is at the heart of Thurlestone Hotel’s ethos and its special Food and Wine breaks have been part of the hotel’s calendar for many years. Masters of Wine host guest tastings and choose wines to complement Thurlestone head chef Hugh Miller’s special menus. Most of the breaks have a theme such as “France v the Rest of the World” or “Italian Wines” etc The food and wine breaks are informative and fun and allow guests to enjoy the very best in food and wine in the comfortable four star surroundings of Thurlestone Hotel in its stunning location and with its extensive leisure facilities.

The wine weekend will be hosted by Christopher Piper Wines. Chris Piper and John Earle started Christopher Piper Wines together in the late 1970’s. CPW (as it is better-known) is widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading regional wine merchants and has been one of Thurlestone Hotel’s principal wine suppliers since 1979. Chris and John are an entertaining ‘double act’ whose infectious enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for their subject brings wine to life! Chris Piper is also a qualified wine maker, who has been running wineries in the Beaujolais region for over thirty years. This weekend’s theme is based around the wines of Bordeaux CPW has been sourcing fine wines from small, boutique producers, from both these classic French regions since they began the business.”
