Celebrating 130 Years of Thurlestone Hotel and The Village Inn
Celebrating 130 Years of Thurlestone Hotel
This year marks an extraordinary milestone for all of us at Thurlestone Hotel and The Village Inn as we celebrate 130 years of welcoming guests to our corner of South Devon.
Reaching our 130th anniversary is a moment of pride, reflection and gratitude. Over the decades, much has changed, but what has remained constant is our commitment to quality, community and a deep respect for the land and people around us. As we celebrate this landmark year, we wanted to mark the occasion in a way that truly reflects who we are. For us, that means championing local produce, supporting local businesses and celebrating local people.
A Celebration of Local Collaboration
To begin our anniversary celebrations, we are delighted to announce the first of several new collaborations with fellow local family businesses.
Our first partnership is with Aune Valley Meat, a family owned business who share our passion for quality, provenance and community. Known for their outstanding produce and close relationships with local farmers, Aune Valley Meat embodies the same values that have guided us for generations.
Until 10th March, we will be offering a selection of special dinner dishes featuring their exceptional meat. Lovingly raised by Aune Valley farmers and thoughtfully prepared by our talented kitchen team, these dishes celebrate the very best of our region’s produce. It is a true field to fork experience, rooted in care, craftsmanship and collaboration.
Bringing the Story Full Circle
This partnership feels especially meaningful to us. Using local produce has always been at the heart of what we do. The Grose family originally started out as farmers in Cornwall, and that connection to the land remains an important part of our identity today.
Working with Aune Valley Meat, another family run local business, feels like bringing our story full circle. It is a reminder of where we came from and a celebration of the shared values that continue to shape our future.
Looking Ahead
As we mark 130 years, we are not only reflecting on our history but also looking forward. Supporting local producers and strengthening community partnerships will continue to play a central role in everything we do.
We look forward to sharing more collaborations and celebrations with you throughout this special year. Thank you for being part of our journey so far and for helping us continue the story of Thurlestone Hotel and The Village Inn.
