This June, discover the flavours of the South Devon coastline with a unique seasonal experience at Thurlestone Hotel. As part of Blooming Britain by PoB Hotels, The Wild Larder: A Foraging Walk & Lunch with Thomas Radford invites guests to slow down, reconnect with nature and explore the landscape through food.
Taking place on Tuesday 23rd June, the experience begins with a welcome drink in the Lounge from 9.30am before setting off at 10.00am for a guided coastal forage with expert forager Thomas Radford. Set against the breathtaking scenery of the South West Coast Path, guests will explore the natural larder of the shoreline and surrounding countryside, discovering edible plants, coastal herbs and the distinctive flavours shaped by land and sea.
Relaxed and immersive, the walk offers a chance to experience the coastline in a completely different way — learning about seasonal ingredients while taking in sweeping sea views and the beauty of South Devon in early summer. Guests are encouraged to bring suitable footwear or walking boots for the foraging walk.
Returning to Thurlestone Hotel, the journey continues with a carefully crafted three-course lunch served in the Trevilder Restaurant at 12.30pm. Inspired by the morning’s discoveries, the menu will celebrate fresh seasonal produce and the ingredients gathered along the way, paired with a glass of wine. Thoughtful, local and rooted firmly in the season, the lunch is designed to reflect the character and flavours of the South Devon coast.
